Short summary
The Northern Kyushu Area Pass offers unlimited usage of JR trains in the Northern Kyushu area such as in Kumamoto, Misumi and the northern area of Oita.

This Pass is not available for Japanese Passport holders.

Validity
– Valid for JR local trains and limited express trains in Kumamoto, Misumi and the northern area of Oita.
– Valid for the Kyushu Shinkansen between Hakata – Kumamoto.
– You can choose between validity of 3 or 5 consecutive days.
– An exclusive ticket only for a tourist with ‘Temporary Visitor’ stamp on his/her passport.

* Shinkansen(between Kokura and Hakata), subways, buses and private railways are not included.

Know before Purchase

  • Make absolutely sure that you fill in your FULL name(s) as written in your passport. This generally includes ALL given names, middle names and official surname(s).

  • You can only buy the exchange order for the Japan Rail Pass outside of Japan and if you visit Japan on a tourist-visa (NOT a student visa, working permit etc.).

  • The Japan Rail Pass is a personal ticket, that can only be used by the person with a tourist visa whose name is written on the pass.

  • The exchange order you receive upon purchase is valid for 3 months from the date of purchase. Therefore, it is not possible to buy a Japan Rail Pass more than 3 months ahead of your trip.

  • You can exchange the order in Japan and, if you prefer, let your pass be activated on a later date, up to one month after exchange in Japan.

  • It is only possible to make seat reservations from within Japan.

Cancellation Policy

  • Area Passes are non-changeable and non-refundable.
