Learn to make your very own Japanese style lunchbox (called ‘bento’ in Japanese)! A bento is the classic way to lunch; the Japanese version of the Dutch sandwich-filled lunchbox. A bento can consist of almost anything, from leftovers to gourmet steak, but will generally include a combination of rice, fish or meat, and vegetables.
In this workshop you will not only learn to make a few of the ‘standard’ bento fillings, but also how to arrange them in such a way as to turn them into a true work of art! The so-called ‘charaben’, a mix of ‘character’ and ‘bento’, has grown in popularity in the last few years. Because why make a ‘regular’ bento if you can make one that looks like a popular character such as Pikachu, Hello Kitty or Totoro?
Curious to find out how to achieve this? Then join the workshop and find out!
